Bringing the Vintage Back !
Last Sunday we had a Sidewalk Sale to introduce our new vintage pieces and let everyone know our Closet is at it's best with new treasures! It turned out to be such a success and a lot of fun! As soon as we started setting up, costumers started showing up! The crowd was at some point so much, we could have used extra hands to help! One of those moments when I wish I had a non stop recording video camera to capture the rush! (awesome for a behind the scene video montage! :) We definitely want more! So this will be one of many more coming up on Sundays ! Clients discovered full racks of vintage clothes, accessories and some home decor pieces! I wanted to share the pictures with you and specially thank Nikki and her friend Yuka who help make last Sunday a great day together!

June is a eventful month!
Did you know that June is a serious "eventful" month at Aline's Closet !?
So much is happening right now, I don't know where to start ! By the way, you still have to meet Nikki from Vintage Cinnamon...No, she doesn't make old fashion style cinnamon rolls for the shop! I'm sure Nikki likes cinnamon, but she collects Vintage! All kind of vintage treasures and since June, super cute vintage clothes for Aline's Closet ! She also has a green thumb, but of her gardener' skills we'll discuss it later ! The focus now is the beautiful events Nikki and I are putting together in June!-coming up!-tomorrow-Now!
We have not 1, but 3 events lined up, all really special !
First, we'll make Sundays a bit more unique by setting up our goods outdoor and spicing it up with the help of some of the local craftsmanship scene! A bit like a market, with just more fun and deals! I will only curate the great, the good and the best! Our first " craft fair " is on Sunday the 17th right in front of the store! Do not miss it! Noon to 5pm.
Then, comes Third Thursday Late in the Lower Haight! This is on Thursday the 21st: We like our community feeling in the Lower Haight! It's all about sharing a common merchant discount in the whole hood, for you to enjoy! We thought you might like a 10%off everywhere once a month?! ;)
The 21st is officially Suummer too ! Show up from 5 to 8.30pm to get 10%off in the entire boutique!
And last but not least! ... Actually the more "pyramidesque" news is that June stands for the shop 2nd year Anniversary !! Remember June 12th last year? When we were celebrating the first candle of Aline's Closet under the trees... Aww how sweet it was! Well, this year, we put a date on our calendar for June 24th and so should you! I'm so excited, it almost sounds unreal ! Wait. After all, don't you think a dream should feel a bit "unreal"?

-For the occasion I have a gift for the shop....It's a surprise...I can only give you a guess: it's made in wood, and closets like it !

Andria, 23, Paris, English poetry student and pictorial craftsman. His head is full of unsung tunes and his heart swarms with bumblebees.
Andria Darius loves the stage set and sometimes becomes the main subject of his own vision turning his art into self portraits. Trough his eyes, I escaped to the categories of imagination, creation, poetry, existence and past decades with just the right amount of décalé I need, to call it Fashion !

Where does the Sun go at night?
The sun does not go anywhere.
He's out there and is always shining.
It's our world that goes around...and the Light appears to go down.
Think about it. Just like in everyday life:
It's not because we can't see or feel the light that there is no light anymore.
The sun will always shine. It's his nature to shine, and it will take billions of years to fully deplete it.
When you feel dazed and confused, when your world is spinning like a carousel ! Still the light continuously shines on you, be grateful for that. Ask yourself : witch part of my life is facing the Sun? There is always one side in sunrise. If in the rest of your world it's night, keep on "turning" : bright sunrise is just on the exact opposite side.
After a sunset must come a sunrise.
Days and nights cycle just goes on and on. Always remember the Sun is shining! Xoxo

Physics or Fashion!
Science aficionados have odd and surprising interests and one of them is... Fashion!
The paragraph below was written by Mark Fischetti on November 16, 2011.
I found it on Scientific American website.
"People who are intrigued with physics are somewhat intrigued with computer science, too, but they are crazy about fashion. Who knew? Hilary Mason did. At Scientific American’s request, the chief scientist at bitly (www.bitly.com), which shortens URLs for Web users, examined 600 science Web page addresses sent to the company’s servers on August 23 and 24. Then she tracked 6,000 pages people visited next and mapped the connections (below).
The results revealed which subjects were strongly and weakly associated. Chemistry was linked to almost no other science. Biology was linked to almost all of them. Health was tied more to business than to food. But why did fashion connect strongly to physics? And why was astronomy linked to genetics?"
Do you want to know why did fashion connect strongly to physics? Both discipline are an analysis of nature! They are all about volumes, forces, spacetime, motions and energy!
I never heard of a fashion designer nor a physician that work without close consideration to those elements...
