Like ice cubes on your ears.
PS: I made this.

Inspiration souvenir
This Wall reminds me of one I once knew from a vintage shop in le Marais, Paris. I'm pretty sure it's the one, just can't remember the name of the shop anymore, but I like the way the shoes are displayed in colors palette. Well done!
The letter from Ken to Barbie
Barbie, Your "write or I'll kill you" card to Ken was risky but so funny !! At the end, I'm glad the yellow belt helped!
I Hope you two are all fine, somewhere on your yatch, heading to the Malibu beach party looking gorgeous together!
-Ken and Barbie, will always be.
In Love, believe in happy (no) endings.

San Francisco small business Week 2012
The City small business Week started on May 14th and will end May 20th.
I feel honored to be counted as a small business in San Francisco.
There is a whole website dedicated to this special week for small businesses: http://www.sfsmallbusinessweek.com/
In conjunction to this and at such a perfect timing, I also got the great news from KeepingItLocal that I'm now on their merchants directory list! Andréa from KeepingItLocal visited me about a month ago ( oups! I should have told you that! ) Well, when we talked she mentioned she will write something about my business. She sent me an email and said she can still vividly remember my beautiful sketches and she think of how talented I am! I was really happy to hear that! Below is what she has written on the directory listing:
"Aline's closet is a one of a kind boutique, where you will find treasures designed & made by Aline Dazogbo herself. Aline studied in Paris and have a specialization in stage costumes. The clothing, jewelry, and home decor items are inspired by her travels around the world."
I felt like in so few words she put so much warm in my heart ! Thanks Andréa ! KeepingItLocal is a great debit cards payment system witch mission statement is " to educate local community on the importance of supporting locally-owned merchants and the economic impact it has back on the community " -What a beautiful mission! Right ?
People from the community pay with credit cards all the time, so why not having a card specially designed to use at small businesses that will benefit back the community ?!
The nickname of Aline's Closet apart from being The cutest shop in the Lower Haight is (at least that's how some of my french friends call the shop) : "la belle petite boutique". I don't think I need to translate that...but wait! I can make things a bit more difficult for you, what about : " La belle petite boutique, qui monte! Qui monte! " ? Ok...continue reading : " The beautiful little boutique that rises, Rises! "
May small businesses like mine rise a bit more everyday and shopping near home stays in vogue, not just for a season.
That would be great if you could come by and support businesses in the Lower Haight tomorrow Thursday May 17th: it's our Première of a monthly event all business owners in the Lower Haight agree to give you! It's called "Third Thursdays-Late in Lower Haight " ! ( We made a Facebook page under this name for our new monthly event )
-Tomorrow is the late night out: from 6pm to 10pm It's 10% off at all participating merchants and of course it is 10% off in the entire boutique at Aline's Closet !
-Count me in !!

Vintage patterns
I love those vintage patterns covers my seamstress Vivian sent me yesterday!
The simple fact that they belong to another decade along with their cute fashion illustrations makes me want to re"vamp" them all and see what the garments could possibly look like in actual fabrics! It kind of reminds me of the time I was learning how to make a pattern..mmm Esmod time! (for those of you who wander what Esmod is, Esmod is the fantastic fashion institute I graduated from in Paris)...In my student time, I was so obsessed with my fashion illustrations! I wanted the garment to be exactly like the sketch!
It must have been hard sometimes for my teachers to convince me in modifying my idea in order to be able to get a "wearable/patterned" pieces...I wouldn't leave any room for alterations- at all-: the idea has to become a illustration, the illustration then becomes paper pattern pieces, those become fabrics' pieces and finally the magic comes to life once sewn together! Let me confirm you this : Pattern making is an Art ! And whoever know how to make a pattern should be called an Artist !

Paris VS New York...SF is just behind.
What Does it mean about SF: in/not in? SF is never in the competition...Next to Paris or New York, but wait have you been in San Francisco before? SF rocks! I lived in Paris for about 7 years and visited SF several times while living in Paris. I also spent a whole summer in NY ( enough time to feel like a new-new yorker? 3 months) well, and still pay a visit to the Big Apple once in a while! But today I live in SF, and my heart is in San Francisco. Once I will gather all the elements on WHY those 3 cities dragged me and still hypnotized me with their wonders, that one day I'll make a Paris vs NY vs SF inspiration book with my original illustrations and pictures! To published...maybe by
a publisher of luxury and limited edition books on fashion, travel, design, art, architecture, photography and the culinary arts.
To start with, dress like a local ! Below is The grey sweater+ The turquoise necklace you MUST pack either visiting Paris, New York or San Francisco.
Pick them up at the shop before you go! You'll thank me later! :)
